How Poetry Workshop Began
“It all started when I was a little girl..”
Wisteria was declared the youngest poet in the Lehigh Valley, in 1993, at the age of 8 at Seattle Espresso Cafe on Hamilton street. Here, she met her mentor, Armando Passé, coined “The Walking Street Poet”. They soon began after school poetry classes at Jefferson Elementary, where their friendship continued.
8 years later, she received a call while in high school, that Armando had passed away from cancer. She and her father immediately arranged Poetry Events, in his honor, with his girlfriend, Amy, and many fellow poets.
As an adult, in 2016, Wisteria began hosting a Poetry Workshop of her own at Coffeehouse Without Limits in Allentown in his honor. To this day, seven years later, Poetry Without Limits is being hosted on Wednesdays and throughout her healing practice as a means of shadow work.

On holidays we gather around the fire with notebooks, instruments, and potluck snacks!
These days, our regular poetry workshop meetups are mid-month on Wednesday, done over video call. Those attending will begin to write on the prompts chosen at 6pm. At 7pm we will meet to read what we’ve created!
After sharing each piece, it is reread from another voice, and then feedback is given.
Since my first Poetry Workshop, we have never deviated from this unique and all-inclusive style to host the class.
